Questions dealers ask
If your question isn't here, ask us and a person will answer it.
What is CommercialBuses?
CommercialBuses is a dealer-to-dealer bus sourcing service. When a dealer has a qualified buyer but no suitable bus in stock, they send the buyer's requirements to CommercialBuses, and we search participating dealer inventory for an available unit that meets every must-have. It is not a marketplace where buyers and sellers contact each other: listings appear publicly only in anonymized form, with no dealer identity, no exact location, and no contact details, and every deal starts with an introduction we make.
How much does CommercialBuses cost?
Searching is free, and your first confirmed match is free. After that it is $299 per month per dealership location, cancel anytime. Inventory partners who supply buses pay nothing. There is no commission, no percentage of the sale, and no per-match fee.
What counts as a confirmed match?
A confirmed match is a bus that meets every must-have in your request, that the supplying dealer has confirmed is currently available, and that the supplying dealer is willing to discuss with you. Searching never costs anything on its own. Your first confirmed match is free, and after that new searches require a plan. Five suitable buses for one request count as one match, not five.
Will you contact my buyer?
No. CommercialBuses never solicits the end buyer. Buyer identity is not required to run a search and is never shared with inventory partners by default. Supplying dealers see the requirements and your dealership name, not your customer. Every introduction is logged with attribution to your dealership.
Do I have to list my inventory with you?
No. Demand dealers do not list anything, they only send requests they cannot fill. Inventory partners provide an existing source such as a website inventory page, a feed, a CSV, a spreadsheet, a PDF, an API, or a periodic email. CommercialBuses normalizes what already exists, so there is no duplicate data entry.
Is CommercialBuses a broker or a dealer?
No. CommercialBuses is an inventory-search and dealer-network service. The supplying dealer continues to represent the vehicle, controls its price, and closes the sale. CommercialBuses does not take title, hold buyer funds, negotiate the vehicle sale on behalf of either party, or present itself as the seller of third-party inventory.
How do you know a bus is actually still available?
Every unit carries an explicit availability state: source listed, recently checked, confirmed available, pending confirmation, unavailable, or unknown. A bus appearing in a dataset is not treated as available. Only a unit the supplying dealer has confirmed can count as a confirmed match, and every match shows when availability was last checked.
What if the request is unusual or the match is uncertain?
It goes to a person. When a source does not state a must-have, or a specification is unusual, CommercialBuses routes the request to an operator rather than presenting a confident match it cannot stand behind.
What kinds of buses can you source?
School buses, Type A school buses, activity buses, shuttle buses, cutaway buses, transit buses, charter buses, motorcoaches, wheelchair-accessible and paratransit buses, limo buses, and double-deckers, in new and used condition, across participating dealer inventory.
How fast will I get matches?
Submitting a request takes under a minute. Matching runs immediately against the current index, and where availability needs reconfirming with the supplying dealer, an operator handles it and the request shows an awaiting-confirmation state until it is resolved.
