It depends on the kind of bus. Highway coaches and transit buses are built to run for hundreds of thousands of miles, and dealers sell them with 500,000 miles or more. Small buses on a van chassis are usually resold far earlier. These tables show the mileage on used buses dealers are selling on CommercialBuses as of October 31, 2026.
Used listings with a stated mileage, checked in the 30 days before October 31, 2026.
Every figure is rounded to the nearest 5,000 miles.
A row is shown only with at least 5 listings. Each row says how many dealers it comes from; where that is one dealer, it is one fleet's history.
On small buses, a figure over 1,000,000 miles is left out as a listing error. One dealer page currently states the same bus as both 1,599,944 and 157,944 miles.
